Swim Lessons
Bluegrass Swim Club will be offering two 3-week session of swim lessons, for a fee of $75 per member and $90 per non-member. Non-member registration will open on Monday, May 20th. These fees will be paid by check or cash to Bluegrass Swim Club and due one day prior before the first date of the lesson. These payments will not be accepted online or at Heritage Bank. Bluegrass swim lessons are designed to help new swimmers feel comfortable in the water, learn water safety and basic swimming skills. We will be focusing on Beginner 1 & Beginner 2 levels for the two sessions. A brief description of the skill requirements/what is instructed is below.
**As a safety note: To participate in Bluegrass Swim Lessons, your child must be able to stand in the 3ft. This is for both the child and the instructors safety.
JUNE 2024 SESSION: Will run Monday thru Thursday 10-10:30am, 10:30-11am and in the evening, M, T, W & F from 6-6:30pm, beginning June 10th and the last class being held on June 27th:
Beginner 1 will be from 10-10:30am. There will be two classes run at this time, each with 10 kids in each class and two instructors.
Beginner 2 will be from 10:30am-11am. There will be two classes run at this time, each with 10 kids in each class and two instructors.
Beginner 1 and 2 will be from 6:00-6:30pm, with one class of each. Each class will have 10 kids and two instructors.
JULY 2024 SESSION: Will run Monday thru Wednesday 10-10:40am, 10:40-11:20am and in the evening M, T, W from 6-6:40pm for Beginner 1, and 6:40-7:20 for Beginner 2 beginning July 8th and the last class being held on July 25th:

Beginner 1 and 2 will be from 6 -6:40 for Beginner 1 and 6:40-7:20 for Beginner 2.
BEGINNER 1: Enter water safely, blow bubbles, bobbing, open eyes underwater and retrieve submerged objects, front glide and float, back glide and float, recover from both a front and back glide to a vertical position. Roll from front to back and back to front. Arm and hand treading and alternating leg action (kicking).
BEGINNER 2: Incorporation of all skills in Beginner 1 and in addition, simultaneous leg action, along with incorporating alternating arm action. Understanding safety topics and concerns.
At the end of each session, the children will be allowed to go off of the diving boards and receive a completion certificate.
